Well, these aren't great photos of my necklace, but I'll update with a better photo once the sun is out. The main thing is that I'm done. I created something out of the kit sent to me for the Mostly Metal Challenge. The fun began when I somehow stumbled on the call to enter Michelle Mach's challenge. Something I always love is a challenge.
This time proved even more so as mum was here. The rough idea formed for this the moment I pulled everything out of the pack and began to push the pieces around my bead tray. But I didn't get to it until late Saturday night. I really wanted to use the ribbon, but time didn't permit me to do all I'd imagined. Instead I kept with the steampunk theme and used some Phileas Fogg chain I had from an etsy purchase sometime last year. I wasn't struck on using the main focal, either, so I left that out. Instead I made my unique portion of the pack into part of the focal and I kind of like the funky streampunk look I created. I hope you do, too.
Make sure you check out the other entries in the Mostly Metal Blog Hop . . . and a Giveaway!

Great steampunk piece! I'm impressed you were able to combine so many pieces in the focal, even the "l-o-v-e" charms. You made the sweet pink cab look edgy! Thanks for joining the challenge!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing piece Heather! I love how the pink cab pops!
ReplyDeleteSo different and yet great, I too am surprised that the pick cab fit in, that was a hard piece to use. Love it.
ReplyDeleteWow, Really different and eye catching. I'm thinking the same thing about the pink cab..it looks really great here!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is really unique! I love steampunk!
ReplyDeleteThat's just cool! Love how the texture of the heart is picked up by the seedbeaded part. Really cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great comments. I think it looks pretty good myself, but it's always heartening to have others say so, too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLoved your piece. You made that pink cab look like it belonged somewhere...(I tried and failed at that.) This piece is really different and you have used the different elements well. Very impressed.
ReplyDeleteOh my heavens Heather! That is just amazing...so unique. I love how you used all the elements. I'm sorry you weren't able to completely fill your fantasy idea and get the ribbon in there too, but hey...I left out *two* elements!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the comments. ;-)
